Walkability Index New York

Check the value of each location by placing the cursor on the map

The Walkability Index (WI) scores locations from the most walkable (WI=100) to the least walkable (WI=0). The WI bundle's a series of variables considered relevant to walkability by the urban planning literature (e.g., number of restaurants, the mix of land use, and the number of coffee shops, among others). Unlike other measures of walkability, where variables are selected and weighted based on the authors' opinion, the WI uses the relation with an indirect valuation of the cost of walking.
